ReCreate Executive Director Dara Connolly Wins Prestigious Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Award on behalf of ReCreate.
ReCreate are delighted to have been awarded a Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Impact award at a ceremony on Tuesday, the 11th October. The ReCreate team now work with over 1,600 creches, schools and community groups, including those with special needs, using art and creativity to bring joy, confidence and new communication channels. The prize consists of €140,000 in funding to expand and grow the organisation, which we’re sure will be great news for our members!
A huge congratulations also to two other social entrepreneurs that have also been awarded funding and support worth €140,000 in the Impact Award category; Lakers and A Lust for Life.
A further six organisations each received funding and support worth €30,000 in the Elevator Award category. They were Sam Synnott and Judith Ashton from Buddy Bench Ireland, Alex Cooney and Cliona Curley from CyberSafeIreland, Shane McKenna and Killian Redmond from DabbledooMusic, Noelle Daly and Stephen Cluskey from Mobility Mojo, Barry Grant from Problem Gambling Ireland and Francis Cleary from Step Out Ireland.
Speaking about the award, Dara Connolly said; ‘Through creative reuse, we at ReCreate are nurturing the inventors and innovators of tomorrow, providing the tools for people to be creative, invent, innovate, communicate and collaborate. Winning this SEI award means that we can develop this work in a larger space, expand around the country and make more people aware of what we do. It’s so great to have our work for people and the environment validated and supported.’
