ReCreate recently carried out a sensory project in collaboration with Early Childhood Ireland in three different settings; Creative Kids Walkinstown, Corduff Childcare and YMCA Childcare Kidsworld Creche. The aim of the project was to support the arts in early childhood education and engage the senses of the children through play.
Open-ended materials from ReCreate were used, these were carefully chosen and the children were able to explore and create in their own time. It was clear to see that they were intrigued and their senses came alive. By allowing the children to independently engage with the materials, they were able to freely express themselves, create challenges and solve problems.
