ReCreate has designed a specific one day programme aimed at professionals who have an interest in driving innovation in their business and encouraging teams to work together as a more cohesive unit.
Using a variety of techniques including talks, video and hands on workshops, your group will learn about the processes involved in creativity and collaborative innovation. Understanding that the totality of ReCreate as a resource is fundamental to the process and informs all our thinking i.e. the place, the materials and the people are all there to support, stimulate and encourage the creative process which in turn allows the group to innovate.
Involvement in the Programme also allows your organisation to deliver on its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in a positive and pro-active way by supporting ReCreate, a registered charity.
Some of the techniques experienced on the day may be implemented in the work place, if nothing else the conversation around how you innovate as an organisation will have begun. This is a participative model so expect to make lots of things individually and as a group.
The day begins with an introduction to ReCreate and a quick tour of our facilities. We then combine a talk with video presentations to stimulate thinking around Creativity and Innovation. The rationale behind this is to challenge assumptions that being creative is for other people and innovation is the exclusive arena of Research and Design departments:
– In broad brushstrokes we describe a process which the group will follow; they are then assigned groups and given a brief. The process involves responding to the brief in a structured way. The group will first brainstorm then make or iterate their ideas i.e.make lots of examples as a group they will then decide which elements they will use in their prototype and then make it. It should be stated that this process is fluid and open so changing, adapting and developing ideas is actively encouraged.
– All the resources of ReCreate are at the group’s disposal. The materials, the staff and the environment are geared towards collaboration and support for participants. This is a unique opportunity for you to begin a conversation with your staff around how your organisation might become more creative and innovative.
